HOROSWISS: THE PROFILE

Swiss Trek Sarl., the producer of Horoswiss watches was founded in 1993 in the watch making metropolis of La Chaux-de-Fonds, whose architecture and urban landscape owes much to the traditional watch making industry. Horoswiss watches, Swiss made in Jura!

It was there, in the heart of a region synonymous to the top-quality of Switzerland’s watch products that Michaël Vrolixs chose to establish his company Swiss Trek Sarl..
Mr. Vrolixs belongs to the fourth generation of a family with found watchmaking background.
Before establishing Horoswiss and Swiss Trek Sarl., the Vrolixs Family owned and directed the SAW Co S.A, that produced a wide variety of military type timepieces.

In the early days of Horoswiss the company focused on High Quality Swiss Made watches with mechanical movements. Horoswiss also invented solar modules and mastered the use of Trigalight ® technology ( gas tritium capsules) to revolutionized the illumination of watches. Trigalight is a gas, that glows 100 times brighter than traditional light sources used in watches. This process, formerly reserved for military applications, is completely safe and nowadays used by many well known watch brands (such as Luminox, Nite, Traser, just to name a few).

Based on a concept defined by Michael’s father in 1984 the extremely tough ‘’Swiss Army TNT watches'' brought a great success to the company and were exported to more than 50 countries worldwide.
In 1999 a agreement with Swiss Army Brands of USA (SABI) was signed and all the SAW rights related to that kind of product and trade-marks have been sold.

In the year 2001 Horoswiss accquired the exclusive and worldwide rights to produce and market the Compass watch developed by well-known Swiss engineer Mr Hubert Zwahlen.
The unique Horoswiss 5000 Series timepieces was born with a exceptional technical feature: a ''flip-open'' compass built in a watch that even looks good!
Tested by Swiss military pilots and the Swiss Federal Office for Metrology, its success does still not decline and SWISS TREK plans to increase the compass model range within the following years. The Horoswiss 5000 compass watches are manufactured for special outdoor activities like mountain biking, hiking, trekking, however, for everybody who is spending the leisure time outdoor.

The reasons for its success are the exceptional technology and the original, straight design; it integrates an antimagnetic case and the fluid compass, a genuine precision tool tested by the Swiss Federal Office for Metrology and Swiss military pilots.

This timepiece is ideal for sportsmen, explorers, airmen, sailors and every person anxious to find a precise bearing. Thanks to that kind of expertise SWISS TREK gained the confidence of several famous brands. Thanks to taht Swiss Trek Sarl. was able to expand into the ‘’Private Label’’ watch business producing compass watches and common quartz and mechanical models for other well known Swiss watch brands.
